The main audience for confidence-boost.com are young adults between the ages of 15-25. These people would fall into the category of high school and college students that are male. These students are looking for an entertaining web site to show to their friends that can make them laugh and have a good time. They want a web site where they can laugh at others, but also laugh at themselves and picture themselves in the other person's shoes. These young adults want to know that even when life gets down and hard....that there are worse situations out there than theirs.
This audience has a lower amount of education and low income. They are students and most of them have not been making their own living yet. However, they have high sense of humors, but since they are not as educated they need a web site that is easy and non complex to navigate in. It needs to exceed their expectations that way they will take time from their favorite web sites such as facebook and youtube to come to this site.
The purpose of this site is to entertain and to humor anyone that is in need of a laugh or a "boost of confidence". This site is supposed to boost someone's confidence, but in ways very different and exciting other than just a motivational speaker or psychiatrist. So you think your life is nothing good or you are not the best at something or the best looking? Well don't worry because odds are there is someone else out there that is worse than you. The chances are in your favor with over seven billion people in the world.
Also, this site is going to show funny videos and funny pictures kind of like youtube and a fail blog, but instead it will be more aimed towards the 15 to 25 year olds and only funny videos will be shown and it will be easier to find videos than on youtube.
People would come to this site because young adults like funny and immature things and this web site is perfect for that. Everyone needs a laugh at one time or another and this site will also be there to cheer people up that think their life is nothing or useless. This web site will also be a gateway to other funny web sites around so it will be easy to find funny web sites all around the world that someone may be looking for.
Persona
My name is Johnny Johnson and I'm a 22 year old senior studying Communications at California University, Berkeley. I work down at the local pizza shop for $9.00 an hour. I like to party and I am part of a fraternity with my boys. I am a huge sports fan and I attend every game at Berkeley. I am single and ready to mingle, but in no way want to get married anytime soon. My plan after college is to work for a news station as a sports caster at KTVU Channel 2 news in Oakland, California.
Scenario
The audience will navigate on the web site by getting around on a navigation bar at the top of the page. To get around to other funny web sites there will be ads on the side of the pages that they can click on. Some pages will have a side navigation bar because there will be sub categories or categories This web site will also be respectful of others so it will not play the videos without first being played by the person navigating the web site.
This is a web site that would be likely to travel by mouth more than anything especially by the means of using social media tactics such as Facebook and Twitter. I will eventually want to make a Facebook page for this web site and then use Google Adwords to get people to visit the site because I will want to sell merchandise such as t-shirts and other misc. items. Below is how I will format my website.
